Digital X Rays
What Is the Difference Between Digital & Traditional X-Rays?
Preferred Urgent Care has years of experience providing diagnostics to patients
in Katy and Fulshear, TX through our advanced digital x-ray technology. We understand that the need for x-rays can
happen suddenly, so we are happy to be available for walk-ins, 7 days a week. Our team takes pride in our minimal
wait time, so you can receive an x-ray as soon as possible to determine the nature and scope of the damage—allowing
you to receive the treatment you need quickly.
Both digital and traditional systems work by using x-rays to generate a picture of body tissues and structures.
However, digital x-rays have sensors that go directly to a computer, which enables the technician to capture more
accurate images.
What Can X-Rays Detect?
While many people think x-rays are exclusively for detecting broken bones, there are a variety of issues that x-rays
can detect, including:
- Fractured, dislocated, or broken joints or bones
- Fluid build up in joints and bones
- Placement of foreign objects
- Arthritis
- Abnormal bone growth
- Osteoporosis
- The progression of healing for damaged joints or bones
Sometimes a broken foot or ankle presents symptoms you may believe to be just a sprain. While we cannot detect a
sprain with our digital x-rays, we can discover if what you believe to be a simple ankle sprain is really a broken
bone. If you have injured your ankle or foot, contact our office right away so we can ensure you are
receiving the proper treatment.
What to Expect from Your X-Ray Exam?
We Welcome X-Ray Walk-Ins!
At Preferred Urgent Care, we strive to create a comfortable environment from start to finish. That is why we always
take the time to let you know what to expect from your x-ray exam. After you complete the necessary medical forms,
you are taken into an exam room. The x-ray process can take between 5 – 30 minutes and during this time, images are
taken with the help of our compassionate and knowledgeable x-ray technicians. You might be asked to reposition
yourself to give our medical professionals a more holistic idea of your injury, but otherwise, the key is to stay as
still as possible, since any additional movement can lead to blurry images. Once the x-ray results are in, we are
happy to send them to your primary care physician to help you receive the right treatment for your particular needs.
Call us today at 281-916-1444 to learn more about our x-ray
solutions or to schedule an appointment.
